(1 Cor 1:1 KJV) Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, (고린도전서 1:1 흠정역) 하나님의 뜻을 따라 예수 그리스도의 사도로 부르심을 받은 바울과 우리 형제 소스데네는 (고린도전서 1:2 흠정역) 고린도에 있는 하나님의 교회 곧 그리스도 예수님 안에서 거룩히 구별되고 성도로 부르심을 받은 자들과 또 각처에서 우리의 주 곧 그들과 우리의 주 되신 예수 그리스도의 이름을 부르는 모든 자들에게 편지하노니 (고린도전서 1:3 흠정역) 하나님 우리 틜痴熾?주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 있을지어다. This sanctification is called "initial sanctification". 이 성화는 “본질적인 성화”라고 불리워집니다. The word sanctified means set apart for God's service. “sanctified, 성화되다"라는 단어는 하나님의 예배를 위해 따로 구별되어졌다는 것을 의미합니다. Let me first say what sanctification is not, so you can comprehend what it is. 우선 무엇이 성화가 아닌지를 말하여 주면, 여러분이 그것이 무엇인지 이해할 수 있을 것입니다. 1. Sanctification is not freedom from temptation. 1. 성화는 유혹으로부터의 자유가 아닙니다. As you live the sanctified, or set apart life you will no doubt be tempted more and more. 여러분이 성화된 삶을 살기에, 또는 구별된 삶을 살기에 여러분은 의심할 바 없이 더욱 더 유혹을 받게 될 것입니다. (요한일서 1:8 흠정역) 만이 우리가 죄 없다 말하면 스스로를 속이고 또 진리가 우리 속에 있지 아니하는 것이요, There is no condition in this life where a Christian is safe from the possibility of sin. 이생의 삶 안의 조건 안에서 그리스도인이 죄의 가능성으로부터 안전한 곳은 없습니다. Every Christian is vulnerable to Satan's attack and to sin. 모든 그리스도인은 사탄의 공격과 죄에 대해 취약합니다. In V-21 the will of the Father is to repent and believe the gospel of Christ. 21절에서 아버지의 뜻은 회개하고 그리스도의 복음을 믿는 것입니다. To repent means to be born again of the Spirit. 회개하는 것은 영적으로 거듭나는 것입니다. What does it mean to be born of the Spirit? 영적으로 태어난다는 것은 어떤 의미입니까? It means our dead spirit which died in Adam is given new life by the Holy Spirit, or a rebirth. 아담 안에서 우리의 죽어 있던 영이 성령에 의해서 새로운 생명을 받는 것, 또는 다시 태어 나는 것을 의미합니다. It means when you hear a clear presentation of the plan of salvation, you can make a conscious decision. 여러분이 구원의 계획에 대해 명확한 진술을 들었을 때, 여러분이 의식적인 결정을 할 수 있음을 의미합니다. The decision to accept Christ or reject Christ as your personal Savior. 여러분의 개인적인 구세주로서 그리스도를 받아들이든지 거부하든지 하는 결정입니다. (고린도전서 3:3 흠정역) 너희가 아직도 육신에 속한 자로다. 너희 가운데 시기와 다툼과 분열이 있으니 어찌 너희가 육신에 속하여 사람들처럼 걷는 것이 아니리요? Milk drinking Christians will always remain in the baby stage of their spiritual life and never mature. 젖을 먹는 그리스도인들은 언제나 어린 아이 상태로 있을 것이며 그들의 영적인 삶의 단계는 결코 성숙하지 않을 것입니다. Notice Hebrews 5:12-14; 히브리서 5:12-14를 보십시오. (Heb 5:12 KJV) For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. These Christians forgot the very basic things of the Christian life and must be taught again and again. 이 그리스도인들은 그리스도인의 삶에서 매우 기초적인 것들도 잊어버렸으며 계속해서 배워야만 하는 사람들입니다. (Heb 5:13 KJV) For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. (Eph 6:14 KJV) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (에베소서 6:14 흠정역) 그런즉 서서 진리로 너희 허리를 동여매고 의의 흉갑을 입고 (Eph 6:15 KJV) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (에베소서 6:15 흠정역) 화평의 복음을 예비한 것으로 신을 신고 (Eph 6:16 KJV) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (에베소서 6:16 흠정역) 모든 것 위에 믿음의 방패를 취하며 이것으로 능히 저 사악한 자의 모든 불화살을 끄고 (Eph 6:17 KJV) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (에베소서 6:17 흠정역) 구원의 투구와 성령의 검 곧 하나님의 말씀을 취하라. (Eph 6:18 KJV) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (에베소서 6:18 흠정역) 성령 안에서 모든 기도와 간구로 항상 기도하되 모든 성도를 위하여 모든 인내와 간구로 이 일에 주의를 기울이고 This is not the ordinary, or average Christian. 이것은 평범한, 또는 평균적인 그리스도인이 아닙니다. They are taught in the things of God and recognize the pit falls of life. 그들은 하나님의 것들 안에서 가르침 받으며 삶의 타락을 인지합니다. (수 3:3 흠정역) 백성에게 명령하여 이르되, 너희가 주 너희 하나님의 언약궤와 그 궤를 멘 레위 사람 제사장들을 보거든 너희 처소를 떠나 그 뒤를 따르라. (Josh 3:4 KJV) Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore. (Josh 3:5 KJV) And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you. (수 3:5 흠정역) 여호수아가 또 백성에게 이르되, 너희는 너희 자신을 거룩히 구별할지니 이는 주께서 내일 너희 가운데서 이적들을 행하실 것임이라. We’re not sure how many Jews and others left Egypt, but perhaps there was over a Million people in all. 얼마나 많은 수의 유대인과 타 민족들이 이집트를 탈출하였는지 정확하게 알 수는 없지만, 대략 일 백만은 넘지 않았을까 합니다. (Num 20:10 KJV) And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? (민 20:10 흠정역) 모세와 아론이 그 반석 앞으로 회중을 함께 모으고 모세가 그들에게 이르되, 너희 반역자들아, 이제 들으라, 우리가 너희를 위하여 이 반석에서 물을 내야만 하랴? 하고 (Num 20:11 KJV) And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. (민 20:11 흠정역) 손을 들어 그 막대기로 반석을 두 번 치매 물이 많이 솟아 나오므로 회중과 그들의 짐승이 마시니라. (Num 20:12 KJV) And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. (민 20:12 흠정역) 그때에 주께서 모세와 아론에게 이르시되, 너희가 내 말을 믿지 아니하고 이스라엘 자손의 눈에서 나를 거룩히 구별하지 아니하였나니 그러므로 너희는 이 회중을 내가 그들에게 준 땅으로 인도하여 들이지 못하리라, 하시니라. Moses disobeyed the Lord in what seemed to be a very small thing. 모세는 무척이나 사소해 보이는 일에서 주님께 불순종했습니다. Everything that God says in His word is very important. 하나님께서 그 분의 말씀으로 말씀하시는 모든 것은 매우 중요합니다. If everything was not important God would not have said it, or written it for our learning. 만일 모두 중요한 것이 아니라면 하나님께서 우리의 배움을 위해 그것을 말씀하거나 기록하지 않았을 것입니다. God told Moses to do it God’s way. 하나님은 모세에게 하나님의 방법대로 행하라고 말씀하셨습니다. But Moses, in his anger said, "I will do it my way." 그러나 모세는, 화가 나서, “내 방식대로 할 거야”라고 말했습니다. There is a great prices to pay for God’s children who want to serve God their way and not God’s way. 하나님을 섬기는데 하나님의 방법대로 따르지 않고 그들의 방법을 따르기를 원하는 하나님의 자녀들에게는 치러야 할 엄청난 대가가 있습니다. Then in Joshua 3:5 Joshua was given a message from God to the nation of Israel to "sanctify themselves." 그 다음 여호수아기 3:5에서 여호수아는 하나님으로부터 메시지를 받는데 그것은 이스라엘 백성이 “스스로를 구별하라”는 것이었습니다. There are many Christians who need to read that verse who don’t believe in eternal security. 영원히 지켜주시는 것을 믿지 않는, 그래서 이 구절을 읽어볼 필요가 있는 크리스천들이 많이 있습니다. Today we want to look at progressive sanctification, the second step in sanctification, so listen carefully. 오늘 우리는 점진적인 구별됨[성화]을 보고자 합니다, 이는 성화의 두 번째 단계이며 주의 깊게 들어주시기 바랍니다. Progressive sanctification involves something we as Christians are commanded to do. 전진적인 성화는 그리스도인으로서 우리에게 행하라고 명령되어진 어떤 것을 포함합니다. (Col 3:7 KJV) In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. (골 3:7 흠정역) 너희도 전에 그 가운데 살 때에는 그 가운데서 걸었으나 Now those verses are pretty simple to understand. 지금 이 구절들은 꽤나 이해하기에 간단합니다. In V-5 we are told to "mortify"our members which are upon the earth. 5절에서 우리는 땅에 있는 우리 지체들을 “죽이라”는 말씀을 듣습니다. Mortify means to subdue the habits of our wicked mind. “Mortify"는 우리의 사악한 마음에 있는 습관들을 정복하다, 라는 의미입니다. Husbands and wives cannot get alone among themselves, they bite and devour one another. 남편들과 아내들은 스스로 혼자가 될 수 없음에도, 그들은 서로 물고 삼킵니다. Families should be consumed with love, but instead they are consumed with anger. 가족들은 사랑을 사용하여야 하지만, 그 대신 그들은 분노로 소모됩니다. Paul said if you’re saved and you know it, set your affections on things above. 바울은 만일 여러분이 구원을 받았고 그것을 여러분이 알고 있다면, 위에 있는 것들에 애착을 두라고 말했습니다. There are many Christians who are afraid of the word sanctification. “성화, 구별됨”이라는 단어에 대해 두려워하는 많은 그리스도인들이 있습니다. Somehow they equate sanctification to speaking in tongues, and nothing could be further from the truth. 아무래도 그들은 성화를 입으로 이야기하는 것만으로 그 수준에 다다른 듯, 진리에서 더 나아가지 못하고 있습니다. (롬 14:12 흠정역) 그러므로 우리 각 사람이 자기 자신에 관하여 하나님께 회계 보고를 하리라. Then notice also 2 Corinthians 5:10-11. 그 다음 고린도후서 5:10-11 역시 주목하세요. (2 Cor 5:10 KJV) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (고후 5:10 흠정역) 이는 우리 모두가 반드시 그리스도의 심판석 앞에 나타날 것임이라. 이로써 각 사람이 선한 것이든 악한 것이든 자기가 행한 것에 따라 자기 몸 안에서 행한 것들을 받으리라. (2 Cor 5:11 KJV) Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. (고후 5:11 흠정역) 그런즉 우리가 주의 두려우심을 알므로 사람들을 설득하거니와 우리가 하나님께 밝히 드러났으니 또 너희 양심에도 밝히 드러난 줄로 확신하노라. There is going to be a lot of weeping here at this judgement of the believers. 이 심판의 자리에서 울고 있는 신자들이 많이 있을 것입니다. There are going to be many regrets at this judgement. 이 심판 자리에서 많은 후회가 터질 것입니다. When we see the scars in our Lord's hands which sin made by the nails which fastened our Lord to the cross; 그 때 죄 때문에 우리 주님을 십자가에 붙들어 매어 둔 못에 의해 생긴 주님의 손에 생긴 흉터를 우리는 봅니다. (계 1:15 흠정역) 그분의 두 발은 용광로에서 달구어낸 정제된 놋 같으며 그분의 음성은 많은 물소리와도 같고 (Rev 1:16 KJV) And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. (계 1:16 흠정역) 그분의 오른손에는 일곱 별이 있으며 그분의 입에서는 양날 달린 날카로운 칼이 나오고 그분의 용모는 해가 세차게 빛나는 것 같더라. (Rev 1:17 KJV) And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: (계 1:17 흠정역) 내가 그분을 볼 때에 그분의 발 앞에 쓰러져 죽은 자같이 되니 그분께서 오른손을 내 위에 얹으시며 이르시되, 두려워하지 말라. 나는 처음이요 마지막이니 (Rev 1:18 KJV) I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (계 1:18 흠정역) 나는 살아 있는 자라. 전에 죽었으나, 볼지어다, 내가 영원무궁토록 살아 있노라. 아멘, 또한 내가 지옥과 사망의 열쇠를 가지고 있노라. John didn't go near the Glorified Lord, but the Glorified Lord drew near to John. 요한이 영화롭게 된 주님 곁으로 간 것이 아니라, 영화롭게 된 주께서 요한을 곁으로 이끄셨습니다. John didn't touch the Glorified Lord, but the Glorified Lord touched John. 요한이 영화롭게 된 주님을 만진 것이 아니라, 영화롭게 된 주께서 요한을 만지셨습니다. At the Judgement seat of Christ we are going to fear and tremble at the presence of the Lord. 그리스도의 심판대에서 우리는 주님의 임재에 두렵고 떨릴 것입니다. Not only at the Lord's presence but fear will come upon us all as we anticipate what will come out of the fire. 주님의 임재 뿐만 아니라 우리가 불시험을 지나 나타나게 될 것을 기다리는 것 때문에 우리에게 두려움이 임할 것입니다. All our works of the flesh, all works done in the energy of the flesh will be burned up. 육체로 일한 우리의 모든 일들은, 육체의 힘으로 감당했던 모든 일들은 불살라질 것입니다. All works done for selfish reasons will be consumed in the fire of judgement. 이기적인 이유들로 했던 모든 일들은 심판의 불 안에서 소멸될 것입니다. In Revelation 1:17 our precious Lord told John to fear not. 계시록 1:17에서 우리의 보배로운 주님은 두려워하지 말라고 말씀하십니다. A few Wednesday services ago I brought a lesson on fear and how the devil uses fear against the child of God. 얼마 전 수요예배 때 저는 두려움이라는 주제를 다루었고 마귀가 어떻게 두려움을 사용하여 하나님의 자녀를 대적하는지 전했습니다. Fear and lack of faith, two very destructive weapons of the devil. 두려움과 믿음의 결핍, 두 가지는 무척이나 파괴적인 마귀의 무기입니다. God has always blesses faith and will continue to blesses faith until Jesus comes. 하나님은 언제나 믿음을 복주시며 예수님이 오실 때까지 믿음을 계속해서 복 주실 것입니다. In fact faith is the only thing that God will bless. 사실 믿음은 하나님께서 복 주실 유일한 것입니다. Yes, God will bless our faithfulness, but faithfulness is attached to faith. 네, 하나님은 우리의 신실함을 복 주실 것이며, 신실함은 믿음에 매어져 있는 것입니다. If faithfulness is not attached to faith the Christian is working in the flesh. 만일 신실함이 믿음에 매어져 있지 않다면 그리스도인은 육체로 행하는 것입니다. Please understand that our labor is a labor of love but also a labor of faith. 부디 우리의 수고가 사랑의 수고이며 믿음의 수고라는 것을 이해하시기 바랍니다. Notice what the writer of the Book of Hebrews says in Hebrews 11:6. 히브리서 기자가 히브리서 11:6에서 말하고 있는 바에 주목하십시오. (Heb 11:6 KJV) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Therefore, make sure that what you've doing is a labor of love and a work of faith. 그러므로, 여러분이 행하는 것은 사랑의 수고요 믿음의 수고라는 것을 확실히 하십시오. (딤후 2:21 흠정역) 그러므로 사람이 이런 것들로부터 자기를 깨끗하게 하면 귀하게 쓰는 그릇 곧 거룩히 구별되어 주인이 쓰기에 합당하며 모든 선한 일에 예비된 그릇이 되리라. (2 Tim 2:22 KJV) Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (딤후 2:22 흠정역) 또한 너는 청년의 정욕을 피하고 오직 순수한 마음으로 주를 부르는 자들과 함께 의와 믿음과 사랑과 화평을 따르라. These four types of vessels tells us the whole story of the life of people in the church. 이 네 가지 종류의 그릇들은 우리에게 교회 안에서의 사람들의 삶을 전부 이야기 해 줍니다. This great house Paul is referring to is the house of God, the church. 바울이 이야기하고 있는 이 큰 집은 하나님의 집, 곧 교회입니다. The house of God, the church is well a furnished house with beautiful plates and vessels. 하나님의 집, 교회는 좋은 가구에 아름다운 접시들과 그릇들이 있습니다. Some of these vessels are for different use. 이 중 몇 몇 그릇들은 용도가 다릅니다. There are many professors of salvation like these vessels of wood and earth. 나무 그릇과 질그릇 같은 신앙 고백자들이 많이 있습니다. If you will remember that we read how the wood, hay, and stubble will be burned at the Judgement seat of Christ. 여러분은 그리스도의 심판대에서 나무와 풀과 짚들이 어떻게 타 없어질 것인지 읽은 것을 기억할 수도 있을 것입니다. The Christian testimony is being watched by the world. 그리스도인의 증언은 세상에 의해 보여지는 존재가 되어집니다. What kind of vessel are you? 여러분은 어떤 종류의 그릇입니까? Are you gold, silver, wood, or earth? 여러분은 금입니까, 은입니까, 나무입니까, 아니면 흙입니까? Wood and earth vessels are used for unsightly things. 나무 그릇과 질그릇은 천한 일에 사용됩니다. (1 Cor 15:51 KJV) Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, that changing is ultimate sanctification. This body that we have at the present is not fashioned for eternity. 지금 우리가 가지고 있는 이 몸은 영원의 삶에는 적합한 형태가 아닙니다. It is fashioned for death. 그것은 죽을 것입니다. The reason is because of Adam's sin. 그 이유는 아담의 죄 때문입니다. When Adam sinned every man in Adam was murdered by Satan. 아담이 범죄 했을 때 아담 안에 있던 모든 사람은 사탄에 의해 죽임 당했습니다. We were all dead. 우리는 모두 죽었었습니다. Three levels of sanctification. 세 가지 수준의 성화입니다. The first level we are sanctified in Christ. 첫 번째는 우리가 그리스도 안에서 구별되는 것입니다. The second level, sanctify yourselves. 두 번째는 우리 스스로를 구별하는 것입니다.
