Nile River, Egypt
ClaraCho

A couple of years ago, I was watching the movie called "Death on the Nile" which the movie made from a book written by Agatha Christie was English writer, famously known for her detective novels and short stories.

She is the best-selling novelist of all time and her book is outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare. Especially, one of her famous words is "One does not recognize the really important moments in one's life until it's too late." we have to think about the meaning.

So, I bought the book and read it thoroughly, but still, I liked the movie better than the book itself.

Especially, the killing that happened during the Nile River cruise, yet, the crime will be eventually solved by a detective named Hercule Poirot, created by the author.

For me, the scenery of the Nile River and Temples, both sides of the Nile River, greenery field and trees, attracting more than a story of the movie.

Just a couple of months ago, I made up my mind to visit Egypt with a small group of people.

Now, my problem was I have to arrive in the city of Cairo by myself since I am the only one from Toronto.

During the last two weeks, I worried so much about going alone, I wished I could cancel the trip.

However, that day, my son dropped me at Pearson airport, just like that without coming inside.

Finally, the next day, through the city of Paris Charles de Goal airport where the French government preparing for the next summer Olympics the year 2024, because the airport looks so clean and spacious, it gives me pleasure to stay there waiting for the destination of the airplane to Cairo, finally, I arrived at Cairo International Airport at night and met my group, I was so glad.

We started the tour from the city of Alexandria which is the second largest city in Egypt.

Founded in c.331BC by Alexander the Great who is a famous ruler, later Cleopatra, the Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt.

Actually Alexander the Great is from Greece, Macedonia, and even Cleopatra is from Greece.

We all know from the movie, Cleopatra, she wanted to rule Egypt to borrow power from Cesar who wanted to do that, and got assassinated by Bruce who was his friend, later Antonio who lost the war and Cleopatra committed suicide.

Later, when Muslims got the power, they moved the capital city Alexandria from Alexandria to Cairo and set up as a new capital city,  one time Egypt was occupied by the British as well, at that time, the famous British and French archeologists did a lot of excavations that brought out most of the hidden treasures got exposed in the world, now British government and the Egypt government argue about the treasures that the British were taken at that time, Egypt government want to return them, yet, the British government saying, they are doing a better job to keep world treasures than Egypt. What do you think?

From Karnak, we took a Nile cruise for 3 nights 4 days.

By bus, we visited Aswan, "Nubia", Edfu & Kom, Ombo Temples, Valley of the Kings, and Luxor Temples.

I keep wondering how from sand to brick stone could make such a temple could last a couple of thousand years.

All I could see is sand, unbelievable heat, and people that produced such a history.

It might be different at that time when was a couple of thousands of years ago.

On both sides of the Nile, nobody could build houses, only trees or farming crops to keep greenery.

Through cruises and visiting Temples, every night at the dinner table, we talked about God, Moses, Christianity, and

Kings and Queen of Tombs, Ramesses 2nd.

Since it happened before Christ was born, the history that we talked about was a couple of thousand years old.

However, started the movie that gave me the inspiration to visit there, and brought me deeper faith in what I believe in God.  (the first week of August)
