Americans have now won the first nine events of the 2012 PGA TOUR season.
Two Americans were victorious over international players on Sunday as Hunter Mahan took down Northern Ireland뭩 Rory McIlroy at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship and John Huh beat Robert Allenby of Australia at the Mayakoba Golf Classic.
The last time Americans had a victory streak that long was during the 1991 season as U.S. players won the first 11 events. Ian Woosnam of Wales broke the streak when he won the USF&G Classic, now known as the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Interestingly, though, this week뭩 Honda Classic has only had two American winners since 2004 ?Mark Wilson in 2007 and Todd Hamilton in 2004.
