클린턴 전 美 대통령, PGA 투어 출전 빌 클린턴 전 미국대통령이 미국프로골프(PGA) 투어 휴매너 챌린지에서 ’호주의 백상어’ 그렉 노먼과 라운딩을 함께한다고 AFP통신이 19일 보도했다. 19일(현지시간) 미국 캘리포니아주 PGA 웨스트 골프장에서 개막하는 휴매너 챌린지는 클린턴 재단이 공동 후원하는 대회다. 클린턴은 대통령 재직 시절인 1995년 이 대회(당시 봅 호프 클래식)에서 시타를 한 적이 있다. 일반 프로암 대회가 1라운드로 끝나는 것과 달리 휴매너 챌린지 프로암은 프로골퍼와 아마추어 선수가 정규 4라운드 중 3라운드를 함께 돈다. 클린턴은 프로암 대회에 출전하는 네 번째 전직 미국 대통령이 된다. The group will tee off at 10:20 a.m., local time on the Private Palmer course at PGA West. This is Clinton’s second start at the former Bob Hope Classic. In 1995, he became the first sitting president to tee it up in a PGA Tour event, doing so with presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush. Clinton shot 93. Clinton is one of four ex-presidents to compete in the event, including Dwight Eisenhower. Scott McCarron will be the other professional in the group. He will play with Humana CEO Mike McCallister.
