Singles man: History favors Woods to win By Ryan Ballengee Nov 19, 2011 12:31 PM ET Tiger Woods may be 1-3 through four matches in this Presidents Cup, but history indicates he is a heavy favorite to win his Sunday singles match against Aaron Baddeley. Woods is 4-2 in six previous singles matches at the Presidents Cup. Combined with his 4-1-1 mark in the final session at The Ryder Cup, Woods is a stout 8-3-2 in the format. Compare that record to his output in the partner formats, holding a mark of 15-12-1 in the foursomes and fourball matches in the Presidents Cup. On the back of his record through the first four matches this week, Woods is now a combined 24-25-2 with a partner in 13 appearances in the biennial matches. As has been seen this week in partnering with Dustin Johnson, that record can be misleading of Woods' individual performance. Woods has fared well this week from tee to green, but has been unable to sink many winning putts. The world No. 50 appears also to be set to replicate his record from 13 years ago in Australia. After winning his first team match in 1998, Woods lost three straight before defeating Greg Norman by a 2-and-1 count in the marquee match of the day. The match was settled after the International side had claimed the win.
