While Thompson’s next LPGA start will be at the CME Group Titleholders at Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 17-20, she’s also planning to play the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters Dec. 14-17, according to her agent, Bobby Kreusler. The Ladies Masters is the final event of the Ladies European Tour season. Michelle Wie’s also scheduled to play. After Thompson became the youngest winner in the history of the LPGA winning Navistar, she embarked on a whirlwind media tour, twice visiting New York, where she crashed across the sports divide onto mainstream news shows, including NBC’s “Today Show,” CBS’ “The Early Show” and “Fox & Friends.” She got to meet actor Taylor Lautner, star of the “Twilight” Series, and actor Jonah Hill, whose credits include “Moneyball,” “Superbad” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” during that tour. She also made stops for interviews with Teen Vogue and Seventeen Magazine and was a celebrity judge with Tampa Bay Rays star Evan Longoria at Red Bull’s Flugtag festival in Tampa. “It’s been an incredibly exciting time for her,” Kreusler said. The excitement ratchets back up in two weeks at the CME Group Titleholders, where Thompson’s competing as an LPGA non-member by virtue of her Navistar victory. Thompson will begin competing as a tour member next year with her LPGA debut at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open Feb. 9-12.
