Win FedEx Cup or Tour Champ.? Why not both?

Win FedEx Cup or Tour Champ.? Why not both? By Rex Hoggard September 24, 2011 1:50 PM ET ATLANTA ?It is a question with no correct, or easy, answer. Given the volatility of this week뭩 FedEx Cup race, would a player rather win the circuit뭩 $10 million jackpot or the Tour Championship? For the likes of Matt Kuchar and Jason Day, the answers are somewhat hypothetical. Neither has won on the PGA Tour this season, but according to the circuit뭩 mathematicians, could still claim the season-long trophy. Kuchar, No. 5 on the points list, can finish second and, depending on what other players do, still win the FedEx Cup. Day, No. 10, must win the Tour Championship to have any chance at the title, but given the choice between the two the Australian was clear on this. 밒뭢 going to play plenty of FedEx Cups so I뭗 like a win (at East Lake),?Day said. 밒t뭩 been one of my goals to win each year.? For Kuchar, who also had a chance to win last year뭩 FedEx Cup, there is only one answer ?win both. 밫he way Jim Furyk did it last year, winning the Tour Championship, winning the (FedEx Cup), that's the way to do it. I'd like to do it that way,?Kuchar said. 밒f it works out that I don't win (the finale) and I still win the FedEx Cup, that will be a fun topic to try to figure out how to prove myself or prove that I뭢 worthy.? Just a hunch, but that $10 million would help ease the blow.
