By Sports Network - December 20, 2005
Tiger Woods finished the 2005 season as the top-ranked player in the world according to this week's Official World Golf Rankings.
The South African Airways Open, won by Retief Goosen, and the Asia Japan Okinawa Open were the final two counting events of the 2005 season.
At the end of 2005, Woods will have spent 372 weeks as the top player in the world. He was followed by Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, Goosen, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia and Jim Furyk.
Australian Adam Scott and Scotsman Colin Montgomerie exchanged positions from last week with Scott moving up to eighth and Monty slipping to nine. Chris DiMarco held on to the 10th spot again this week.
Kenny Perry moved up three notches to No. 11, while Angel Cabrera stayed put at 12th. Englishman David Howell tumbled two spaces to 13 and his countryman Luke Donald slid one to 14th this week.
Michael Campbell and David Toms flip-flopped places from a week ago with Campbell inching up to 15 and Toms dropping one to 16th. The remainder of the top-20 was unchanged as Padraig Harrington stayed at 17 and was followed by Darren Clarke, Davis Love III and Tim Clark.
