Choi has this week and they worked well on Friday. Choi shot a 64 in the second round and is one shot back of Martin Laird going into the weekend. And a big part of his success was putting three hybrids in his bag this week. I've always had trouble playing the par-3s [at Bay Hill],?Choi said. 밫he good thing about those hybrids is that it goes far and it goes high, and I뭢 able to stop the ball on the green.? Choi played the par-3s in 1 under with one birdie and three pars, but he also made five other birdies and an eagle on the par-5 16th, where he hit his second shot to just inside 20 feet before making the putt. It wasn뭪 just this tournament, though, Choi was thinking about when he put so many hybrids in his bag. He had the Masters on his mind. Last year, Choi was tied for the lead going into the back nine on Sunday at Augusta National before a bogey on No. 13 and ultimately a tie for fourth. Asked if he뭗 every seen another bag on the PGA TOUR with so many hybrids, Choi laughed and said, 밒 don뭪 think so.? Choi was the one laughing Friday, though. ?Brian Wacker
