How MATT works and what it does The Motion Analysis Technology by TaylorMade (MATT) uses multiple cameras to track markers on a golfer's body and club. A 3-D computer animation is created from the marker positions. The golf swing can be viewed from any perspective so that the precise movements of body segments and the club can be assessed. "We developed it as a clubfitting tool, but the images are so compelling for golf instruction that it seems a no-brainer to use it a golf instruction tool," says Ian Wright, a TaylorMade research engineer.
