Recommendation
To speak of Mr. Kim’s work, is to be filled with a sweet sentimentality.
With his expressive handling of paint, bold color and whimsical symbolism, he plays lavishly with the senses. The forms he creates enhance his wondrous way with color. This intensity shapes the compositions with layer upon layer of imagery emerging form beyond the central characters. I regard Kim to be a confident artist, such luxury is not easily appreciated.
The landscape and figure are often casually represented in an amusing situation. There is the sense that one discovers this fellowship in a constant state of divine bliss. But it is more than this; in an endless number of ways these episodes suggest a state of being: altruistic and ingenious in its dimensions. In doing so, they underline the artist’s own belief in defining such values as, “wisdom, enlightenment, love anshipd friend”. His work is a welcome distraction and diversion from the ‘real’ world. By creating works but allow for some positive introspection.
Trias Gallery is privileged to be presenting an opportunity to showcase his newest works, and I have no doubt this show will further establish Mr. Kim as a truly international artist.
