After 3 years of war, my country was totally ruined
Things stood in pain, sorrowing with hunger
Why cuckoo did you always cry
Trying to bring summer earlier
 
Rain season was June and July
Mosquitoes transmitted malaria 
Typhoid fever and cholera broke out
No doctors, no medicine
Without self-healing, mystical healing 
The healing of the self by the self’s desire
Bodies would have been carried away on stretchers
In the heavy rain burdened with their death

O, God! Where are you? Are you listening to my people’s cry?
No answer is only the answer of just waiting to die 
 
The Communists were scheduled to kill us all
Planned to burn our bodies
In a gasoline fire our rice mill house
My homeland until 1953, just killed, and killed
Bodies filled the wells
Scattered on the hillside with their tissues stripped
So many white bones and skeletons

전쟁 3년 후, 보이는 것은 내 나라의 처참한 참상이었고
남은 것은 굶주림과 고통의 상처였다
뻐꾸기는 왜 저토록 울어대는지
아마 여름을 앞당기려 했는가 보다

 6,7월 장마비에
모기떼는 말라리아를 전염시켰고
장티푸스, 콜레라 전염병들이 발생했다
의사도 없고, 약도 없어
자가치료만이 신비의 치유였을 뿐
자신을 치유하려는 자가반응 뿐이었다

시체들은 들것에 실려
장마 폭우 속으로 사라져 갔다

오, 하느님이시여! 저 울부짖는 백성의 신음소리를 듣고 계시나이까? 
응답없는 유일한 응답은 죽음을 기다릴 뿐이었다

공산주의자들은 우리 모두를 죽이려 계획했다
우리를 우리의 쌀방앗간에 가두어
가솔린을 뿌려
우리를 화형하려 계획했다

내 고향은 1953년까지 죽이고 죽이는 
시체는 우물을 채웠고
언덕에 흩어진 널부러진 시체의 조직
셀 수 없는 뼈와 해골들
